My husband is one of those guys who has a fascination with duct tape. It's cute; he can't help it. He's been known to duct tape everything from the bumper on his car (it got cracked) to the bathroom shower curtain (it got torn). It's become sort of a joke between us, so of course when his birthday came around this year I figured duct tape had to be affiliated to the gift somehow. At first I was going to wrap the gift in duct tape and attach a bow; but then I found something even better.

offers Duct Tape Walllets . Seriously. I knew that you could make wallets out of duct tape, but these REALLY look like the real thing; they're very well made and sturdy, and it takes a second of looking at them before you realize what the material actually is. Technically, they are made out of Super Duct Tape, which is softer and more durable and isn't as sticky and messy as the household stuff. But they have the same look and feel. This was the perfect idea. My husband needed a new wallet, and this was probably the most "personalized" way of giving him one!
It might not be for everyone, but if you have a guy in your life who's stuck on the gray stuff, this is a pretty funny idea. It's also practical, and he'll think of you every time you use it. But be prepared to put up with a little bit of smugness, especially if, like me, you've told him before that he relies on duct tape too much. My husband opened his gift and the first words out of his mouth were "I TOLD you you can use duct tape for anything!" Okay, fine, whatever.
